cosmonaut and test pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union Igor Volk.

The telegram from
the President reads, in part:
“Having devoted himself
to aviation and cosmonautics, he did much to explore outer space
and took part in legendary projects. Igor Volk set an example
of courage and responsibility, dedication and commitment
to his duty. He was completely devoted to his work.
This is how Igor Volk
will be remembered by his family, friends, colleagues – all those who
knew and valued him.”
